Challenge
We were tasked with developing the electronics for a next generation roller bike trainer that needed to match the quality of the mechanical system designed by ex Rolls Royce turbine engineers. We faced a design with no access to outside electrical power, a challenging RF environment, and limited spaceclaim available for electronics.
Solution
Our team delivered a low power PCB design that utilized rotational energy from the roller stored in a super capacitor system so that the system could be self powered while remaining fully contained within the roller.
Result
The product is a seamless trainer experience replicating the feeling of riding on an open road while connecting with apps such as Zwift.
